# SQL-023 Retrieve attorney person list for case update

Retrieves `LEGAL_PERSON` rows joined to `LEGAL_PERSON_TYPE` where the type is `ATTY` or `OUTC` and the type assignment has not expired (`exp_date is null`), for the `ATTORNEYPERSONSQL` code-table lookup used by the update-case status/attorney maintenance UI. The SQL text is identical to [SQL-017](SQL-017-other-parties-attorney-person-list.md), but is defined independently as a separate `Private Const` in `clsUpdateCaseManager.vb`.
